Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Chatki platform, available at https://chatki.me/ (“the Platform” or “the Service”). By visiting chatki.me, clicking “Start,” enabling your webcam, or otherwise using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform immediately.

1. About Chatki

Chatki is a free online platform that connects users with random strangers around the world via live webcam video chat. No registration, account creation, or download is required to use the Service. Users are matched at random and may apply optional filters such as country preference or gender filter to refine their matches. Chatki is designed for casual social interaction between consenting adults aged 18 and over.

Chatki operates as an intermediary technology platform. We facilitate connections between users but do not participate in, record, or moderate individual chat sessions in real time. The interactions that take place between users are entirely the responsibility of those users. Chatki reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice or liability.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Chatki. By accessing or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and that you are not prohibited from using the Service under the laws of your country or region of residence. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of Chatki complies with all laws applicable to you.

If we discover or reasonably suspect that a user is under 18, we will take immediate steps to block that user’s access and, where required by law, report the matter to the appropriate authorities. 3. Permitted Use

Chatki grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use Chatki only in ways that are lawful, respectful of other users, and consistent with these Terms. You are solely responsible for your own conduct during every session and for any content you share, display, transmit, or communicate through the Service.

4. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited on Chatki. Violations may result in immediate permanent removal from the Platform, reporting to law enforcement, or both.

You must not use Chatki if you are under 18, and you must not engage in any conduct that sexualises, exploits, or endangers a minor in any way. Any conduct constituting child sexual exploitation or abuse will be reported to the relevant national authorities without exception.

You must not expose, display, or transmit nudity or sexually explicit material through the video, audio, or text chat functions of the Platform unless you are in a section of the Platform explicitly designated for adult content and have confirmed your eligibility for that section.

You must not harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or abuse any other user, including through hate speech or discriminatory language targeting protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

You must not use Chatki to engage in, facilitate, or promote any illegal activity, including but not limited to soliciting commercial sexual services, distributing illegal substances, conducting financial fraud, or sharing non-consensual intimate images.

You must not send unsolicited commercial messages, use bots or automated tools to access the Platform, impersonate any other person or entity, or use pre-recorded or virtual camera feeds to misrepresent yourself as a live participant.

You must not record, screenshot, or capture any content from a Chatki session without the explicit consent of all parties, and you must not share, publish, or distribute any such recording on any platform or medium. Doing so without consent may constitute a criminal offence and will result in immediate permanent removal from Chatki.

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of Chatki’s systems, disrupt or overload the Platform through any technical means, or attempt to reverse engineer any part of the Service.

5. Content Standards

All content you share or transmit through Chatki — including your video feed, audio, and text messages — must comply with applicable law and must not be obscene, threatening, or grossly offensive in a context where such content is not permitted. Content must not depict or promote self-harm, suicide, graphic violence, terrorism, extremism, or hate speech targeting individuals or groups on the basis of protected characteristics.

Chatki uses a combination of automated tools and user reporting to identify content that violates these standards. We reserve the right to take action against users whose conduct or content breaches these standards, without prior notice and without liability.

6. Reporting and Moderation

Chatki provides users with the ability to report another user’s conduct during or after a session. We investigate all reports in good faith and take appropriate action where a violation of these Terms is identified, including blocking the reported user’s access to the Platform. To report a user, use the report function in the Platform interface or contact us at [email protected] for serious or ongoing violations.

Chatki does not monitor individual chat sessions in real time and does not guarantee that all harmful content will be identified and removed proactively. We rely on users to report violations promptly. We are not responsible for any harm arising from content you encounter on the Platform before it has been reported and acted upon.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Chatki platform — including its design, code, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks — are owned by or licensed to Chatki and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Chatki’s intellectual property without our prior written consent. You must not use the Chatki name, logo, or branding in any way that implies endorsement or affiliation without our prior written consent.

8. Privacy

Your use of Chatki is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and is available at https://chatki.me/privacy-policy/. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and what rights you have in relation to it. By using Chatki, you confirm that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy and consent to the data practices described in it.

9. Disclaimers

Chatki is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any specific user will be available to connect with.

Chatki does not screen, verify, or background-check the users you are connected with. You acknowledge that you may encounter users who behave inappropriately, dishonestly, or harmfully. You use the Platform at your own risk and assume full responsibility for any interactions you choose to engage in. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the Platform and expressly disclaim all liability for any harm resulting from your interaction with another user.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Chatki and its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Platform, including loss of data, loss of profits, damage to reputation, emotional distress, or personal injury, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Because Chatki is a free service, this amount will in most cases be zero. Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain liabilities, in which case our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chatki and its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law or regulation, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.

12. Termination

Chatki reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate your access to the Platform at any time and without prior notice for any violation of these Terms or for any conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or to Chatki. Access restriction is enforced at the IP address level and through other available technical means. If you believe your access was restricted in error, contact us at [email protected].

Upon termination, all rights and licences granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including those relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will continue to apply.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Chatki operates. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we can attempt to resolve the matter informally within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction for the resolution of any such dispute.

14. General Provisions

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms applicable to specific features of the Platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and Chatki with respect to your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings relating to the same subject matter.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Any failure by Chatki to enforce a right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Chatki after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
